Sianagh has astounded all who know her and even those who dont by her ability to defy medical science! Sianagh was born 10 weeks early with no left arm, collar bone or shoulder blade. Her lungs collapsed and she had a curved spine, twisted Sianagh-Profile-2pelvis and both her feet were facing the wrong way. She wasnt given much chance of survival by the doctors.

After several operations and gruelling Physiotherapy to straighten her out, she took up rock climbing at the age of 10 and has been competing in the 2010-2013 paraclimbing series, winning 2nd overall this year. As a result of her efforts in these competitions she has been selected for the GB paraclimbing team. She has also recently won the Yorkshire local hero award in the sporting category and is nominated for a community pride award this year in both the sporting category and spirit of youth category as well as being ambasador for the paralympic flame last year when she carried it through York.

Why I'm a paraclimber: I was born without a left arm, shoulder and collar bone.

Who has influenced me the most in my climbing: Jade Ross, my mum. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't have made it to any competitions which means I wouldn't be on the GB team. Thank you mum for helping me get so far and helping me to succeed in the best way possible!

Why I climb: I enjoy setting myself challenges and finding different ways to complete them.

Aims and ambitions: My aim is to get 1st place in international paraclimbing competitions.
