It's obvious from his achievements over the last year that young Scottish climber William Bosi is a phenomenal talent, as his record in competition and outdoor climbing recently has shown.
But even William seemed surprised last weekend when after a fairly 'normal' Saturday, which started by winning the Scottish Youth Climbing Championship (youth B) at EICA, Ratho(not a bad day on it's own!!!!) he headed to Glasgow for the Commonwealth Games Dinner, where he thought he was to be awarded a Scottish Sports Aid Trust Merit award.
Instead, the now Scottish and UK youth B champion was shocked when "At the dinner it was announced that I had won the Miquel trophy for most improved young Scottish Sportsperson. I was presented with the trophy by Sir Chris Hoy. It was an amazing night and I did not expect to win such a major award!"
As far as we know this is the first time a climber has been recognised at such a major sporting ceremony and as William put it "It was great for climbing to be recognised at this event."
