Repairs - UK
Wild Country in the UK offers a repair service for Friends only. We will not repair harnesses and we do not re-sling Rockcentrics.
Friend Repairs Guide
Following CE legislation Wild Country is legally only able to Repair Friends under 10 years old and the only repairs we will undertake are to replace triggers and replace slings.
To check the age of your unit please call the sales team and they will be able to verify the age of the unit and that it can be repaired - but you can do this yourself by checking the Friend Age Guide.
As a general rule of thumb - Technical Friends with Plastic stem cover came out in 1996 therefore most units without these covers are too old to repair.
For trigger repairs on post 2004 cams you can simply purchase a Trigger Repair Kit
Please contact the sales team for an up to date price for these two repairs. A general overview of the cost to retrigger and re-sling a Friend is approximately £13 including return post.
How to Get a Repair Done
Simply send us the Friend in the post, we will inspect it send a report to you with a cost, you must sign this - and either return it to us with a cheque or call and pay by credit card - and we will repair the Friend and send it out. The Friend will normally be back with you within three weeks - depending when we receive your cheque!!!!
Important Note: If we accept a repair to a trigger under CE regulations we must also replace the Dyneema sling - we will charge for this. We will put the current colour of Dyneema for the size we receive.

Self Help
Stuck Cams - Most sticking and Friend not working can be solved by the use of WD40 - this is a fantastic material as it works to free up stuck cams but will not damage Nylon or Dyneema on the slings.
Note: It is essential maintenance to give your units a 'once-over' with WD40 every 6 months or so even if it seem they do not need it. This will dislodge grit and dirt and help prolong the life of the unit.
Triggers Broken - Wild Country now sell trigger repair kits to repair triggers at home. These will work on most units purchased after 2004 and the kits are available for Forged and Technical Friends.
