Wild Country’s Japanese partner has one of the best established networks of stores in the Japan and is also an internationally recognised brand in its own right.
"Isam Tatsuno, the founder of MontBell, was 21 years old and on his first climbing trip outside of Japan when he tackled the Eiger. So in 1969 Tatsuno had become the youngest person to climb the Eiger's North Wall, and his 21-hour ascent to the summit was the fastest ever, and thus it was in the high mountains that MontBell was born - on the North Face of the Eiger."
That experience gave Tatsuno the idea for MontBell, a company that would strive to both create, design, sell and distribute equipment of the highest standards that will perform in the most demanding conditions.
